Brainstorming at Roker Beach

This evening I had a short drive over to Roker beach to have a think about some ideas for a new photography project at university, which happens to be my last before I graduate. On the beach, I started off by picking up litter on the beach (wearing gloves for safety). My idea is to photograph the litter I find and create cyanotype prints out of them, click here to see what cyanotypes are. This project would mean the beaches around Sunderland would be clearer and safer for everyone to enjoy. If I go through with this idea, I will visit the beaches every week to collect litter and then dispose of it once I've photographed it. I really enjoy working on environmental projects as I end up learning so many new things that give me a greater insight into the world. If you would like to view other projects I have done click these links to view them: Protecting the Greenbelt and Wildfires England.

On the beach there was a guy creating this pattern in the sand. This artwork drew quite a crowd as people stopped to take photos and chat about what it could be. There are two arrows pointing in opposite directions which have the shape of a scroll. But I'm not sure what is on the inside, feel free to leave your interpretations in the comments.
